My name is George Odom, I have been playing the guitar for 30 years, starting with an acoustic guitar playing traditional folk songs followed by the discovery of rock music and the electric guitar! This was the start of the journey I am on today.
I attended the Access To Music course in Leicester in the late 90’s, this was an excellent grounding in all things musical from professional tuition to the music business to recording techniques which is something I am still enthusiastic about today. It was here that I met the other musicians that I ended up forming the band with that turned professional after the course finished. Playing all over the country including a cruise ship contract. I still play live today in two bands, one a six piece bluegrass band, Dust & Debris, in which I play Banjo and Mandolin alongside guitar. the second is an original band called The Wry Dogs. We write and record our own music, which can be found on Spotify, I have always loved writing music and have an interest in the recording process.
Like most teachers, I got into it by a friend asking me how to play something. Enjoying the process, I advertised for students and here we are 15 years later having taught hundreds of students from 5 – 75 years old. As well as private tuition, I also teach in several schools around the Loughborough area. I am fully DBS checked.
