Bass lessons take place in my dedicate music studio in Shepshed, near Loughborough. My philosophy in teaching the Bass is the same as guitar, no two student learn in the same way. I tailor my teaching method to best help you achieve your goals on the instrument.
My lessons cover every topic from the complete beginner, how to hold the guitar, the role of the bass guitarist etc. Through to more advanced techniques and musical concepts. I feel it is a benefit to students to learn the theory of music at the same time as learning practical techniques. Not being a believer in the ‘parrot fashion’ method of teaching. Giving an understanding of what you are doing and why will help you become a more rounded musician. Where possible I aim to back each lesson with a song or a real world musical example to give a practical use for the knowledge you gain.
What is Skype and how does it work?
Skype is a form of internet based communication. All you need is a computer with a webcam, internal or external and a broadband connection, you can see and hear me, and yourself on screen. Lessons are no different to being taught in my studio, we arrange a time and meet online, I will email the lessons notes beforehand so you can refer to them throughout the lesson. For those of you that are Mac based I am happy to use FaceTime as an alternative to Skype
Lessons are paid in advance through Paypal
The advantages of Skype are that it can save you time and money because you don’t have to travel, and you can learn in the comfort of your own home.
I cater for both Rockschool and RGT grades on the Bass guitar. Info on these can be found here –
Lessons and charged at £12 for 30 mins and £20 for 1hr
